House Antaryon of the Obelisk is a noble family from Braavos. Principal amongst the Keyholder families, the Antaryons have a large presence within the city of Braavos, and serve both as financial and naval support for the Sealord. Owners of an island close the Sealord's Palace, they reside within the Obelisk, a keep of grey stone-brick from which the entirety of the Secret City can be viewed.

History[]

House Antaryon claims descent from Ilaro, a court slave once in service to the dragonlords of old and one of the twenty-three founding members of the Iron Bank. As such, it's members enjoy the prestige and honors associated with such, and rarely is a magister of the house seen without sporting the ceremonial wrought-iron key that marks his descent around his neck.

According to the personal history of the family, kept in the library of their fortified manse and tended to by each generation of the house, Ilaro Antaryon would later go on to serve as the city's third Sealord - a claim few can dispute, for few records of the Secret City's dealings in it's infancy remain, shared only through oral legend.

Believing themselves chief amongst the Keyholders, House Antaryon has traditionally championed the values of Braavos: religious tolerance, song, and a militant upholding of the city's First Law, and as such the family has often served the Sealord both in matters of finance and navy.

It's sigil serves as an easy reminder of the family's staunch loyalty to their home: two swords, one to represent Titan's Roar, the Valyrian longsword held by the family for generations, and another, broken at the mid-point to represent the broken sword held in the hand of the Titan of Braavos. Both rest upon a field of purple, the color most commonly associated with Braavos and it's purple-hulled vessels, and on top sits a key of gold, to mark the family's ancestral status as Keyholders.

In the time of Marro Antaryon, three notches have been added to the right-leaning sword, each to mark a member of the Agnalor family slain by Titan's Roar during the Battle of the Sweetwater Source.
