Leshp is an island found off the coast of eastern Essos, near to the city of Asabhad.
Geography and Location[]
Leshp is located in the northern Jade Sea, just west of Asabhad and the estuary of the river known as the Paddlefish Run. Further to the west, the isle of Qal and the vassal-cities of Qarthak and Qalred can be found, as well as the city of Qarth itself on the Essosi mainland.
Topography and History[]
The island of Leshp is relatively barren by the standards of the lush and flourishing standards of the isles of the Jade Sea. Instead of vast jungles teeming with animal and plant life, it is an isle of grassland plains that are all but silent. Many have theorised the reasons behind such a disparity, and everything from the soils being poisoned by dust blown southeast from the Red Waste to historical invasions by the Deep Ones have been proposed over the centuries.
Nonetheless, it is not uncommon for pirates to linger upon the isle, hoping to catch merchants off-guard as they leave the port city of Asabhad with cargo holds filled with spices and other riches.
