Mantarys is one of the cities of the Valyrian Peninsula and Lands of the Long Summer, located north of the Smoking Sea upon the tip of the Sea of Sighs.
History[]
Mantarys was founded by the Valyrian Freehold. Although rich and glorious, it did not have self-rule and was instead governed by men and women sent from Valyria to rule in the name of the Freehold and thus it is not counted among the Free Cities. The city survived the Doom of Valyria, and remains inhabited to this day, although those that live within are said to be twisted, monstrous and more beast than man.
